How to View Prayer Details #
The View Prayer page shows the full details of a prayer, including the original request, the AI-generated prayer text, and engagement information.
Accessing a Prayer #
You can view a prayer by:
- Clicking on any prayer card on your Dashboard
- Clicking on a prayer card on the Prayer Wall
- Following a shared prayer link
What You’ll See #
The View Prayer page displays:
- Prayer Request — Your original prayer request text as you submitted it.
- Prayer Text — The AI-generated prayer based on your request.
- Date — When the prayer was submitted.
- Status badges — URGENT, SHARED, and/or ANSWERED indicators.
- View Count — How many people have viewed this prayer (for shared prayers).
Answered Prayers #
When a prayer has been answered, you’ll see a green ANSWERED badge on the prayer card. This badge indicates that the prayer author has marked the prayer as answered.
Only the prayer owner can mark a prayer as answered. To mark your own prayer as answered:
- Navigate to the View Prayer page for your prayer.
- Click the “Mark as Answered” button.
- The green ANSWERED badge will appear on your prayer card across the Dashboard, Prayer Wall, and Prayer Display.
Answered prayers remain visible on the platform and serve as a testimony of encouragement to others in the community.
Prayer Comments #
Below the prayer details, you’ll find a Comments section where community members can post words of encouragement, support, and solidarity.
Who Can Comment #
Any authenticated user who can view the prayer can leave a comment. This includes:
- Members of the same organization as the prayer
- The prayer owner themselves
Posting a Comment #
To post a comment:
- Navigate to the View Prayer page by clicking on any prayer card.
- Scroll down to the Comments section below the prayer details and updates.
- Type your comment in the text area.
- Click “Post Comment” to submit.
Comments appear in chronological order with your name and a timestamp.
Deleting a Comment #
You can delete your own comments at any time by clicking the delete button next to your comment. Additionally, the prayer owner and organization admins can delete any comment on a prayer they manage.
Subscribing to a Prayer #
If you want to stay updated on a prayer, you can subscribe to it. Subscribing means you’ll receive email notifications when something happens on that prayer — such as a new comment or when the prayer is marked as answered.
How to Subscribe #
- Navigate to the View Prayer page.
- Click the “Subscribe” button.
- Choose your notification preference:
- Immediate — Receive an email each time there is new activity (new comment, prayer answered).
- Digest — Receive a summary of activity bundled into your daily digest email.
What Notifications You Receive #
As a subscriber, you’ll be notified when:
- A new comment is posted on the prayer.
- The prayer is marked as answered by the author.
How to Unsubscribe #
To stop receiving notifications for a prayer, navigate to the View Prayer page and click “Unsubscribe.” You can re-subscribe at any time.
Prayer Updates #
Prayer authors can post follow-up updates on their prayers — for example, to share good news, provide a status change, or thank the community. Updates appear below the prayer detail card, with the newest update shown first. Each update displays the text and a relative timestamp (e.g., “2 hours ago”).
If you are the prayer owner, you’ll see a “Post Update” text area where you can write and submit an update. You can also archive your own updates by clicking the archive button next to each one.
Editing Your Prayer #
If you are the prayer owner, you’ll see an “Edit” button at the bottom of the View Prayer page. Clicking it opens the Edit Prayer form where you can update:
- Your prayer request text
- Sharing settings (allow others to pray with you)
- Emergency/urgent flag
- Organization assignments
Important: When you save your edits, the prayer is resubmitted for AI processing. This means:
- The prayer status returns to “Processing” (yellow card on your Dashboard)
- A new AI-generated prayer will be created based on your updated request
- The prayer goes through content moderation again
- While processing, the prayer will not appear on the Prayer Wall or Prayer Display
You can edit your prayer regardless of its current status — whether it’s active, processing, or rejected.
Deleting Your Prayer #
Prayer owners also see a “Delete” button on the View Prayer page. Clicking it opens a confirmation dialog asking you to confirm the deletion.
Once confirmed:
- The prayer is removed from your Dashboard
- The prayer is removed from the Prayer Wall and Prayer Display
- The prayer will no longer appear anywhere on the platform
- This action cannot be undone.
Prayer View Map #
For shared, active prayers, you’ll see a “View Map” button. This opens an interactive world map showing where people have viewed your prayer. The map includes:
- Red circle markers for each viewing location
- Click a marker to see the city, region, country, and view count for that location
- A stats panel showing total views and unique locations
- A scrollable list of all viewing locations sorted by view count
This is a powerful way to see the global reach of your prayer community’s support.
Privacy Notes #
- Only shared and active prayers can be viewed by others. Private prayers are visible only to you.
- View tracking uses IP-based geolocation to determine approximate city-level location — no personal information about viewers is collected.
- Each unique IP address is only counted once per prayer to prevent duplicate counting.
