Prayer Display for Organizations

Using the Prayer Display #

The Prayer Display is a customizable, branded page that shows shared prayers from your organization’s members. It’s designed to be displayed on screens in churches, lobbies, or shared via links with your community.

Prayer Display URLs #

Each organization has its own Prayer Display page:

  • All prayers (default template): prayer.prayerconnect.church/PrayerDisplay
  • Organization-specific: prayer.prayerconnect.church/PrayerDisplay/{orgGuid}
  • Specific prayer: prayer.prayerconnect.church/PrayerDisplay/{orgGuid}/{userGuid}/{prayerId}

View Modes #

The Prayer Display supports two view modes, controlled by a URL parameter:

  • Show Request (default): ?view=showrequest — Displays the original prayer request as written by the user.
  • Show Prayer: ?view=showprayer — Displays the AI-generated prayer text.

Viewing a Specific Prayer #

When you use a direct URL to a specific prayer (the format with /{orgGuid}/{userGuid}/{prayerId}), the Prayer Display shows that single prayer statically without rotating to other prayers. This is useful for sharing a direct link to one particular prayer request with someone.

Embedding on External Websites #

You can embed the Prayer Display on your church’s website or any external site using an iframe. Organization admins can find the embed code on the Organization Links page (accessible from MyOrganizations). Simply copy the iframe snippet and paste it into your website’s HTML.

The embed works on any external website — there are no cross-site restrictions preventing the Prayer Display from loading inside an iframe on your domain.

Organization Template Customization #

Organization admins can customize their Prayer Display’s appearance. Template options include:

Colors #

  • Background gradient (start and end colors)
  • Text color
  • Accent color
  • Emergency prayer highlight color

Typography #

  • Primary font (for prayer text)
  • Secondary font (for headers and UI elements)

Branding #

  • Organization logo URL
  • Show/hide logo
  • Header text
  • Footer text

Display Settings #

  • Rotation delay (how long each prayer is shown, in milliseconds)
  • Refresh interval (how often new prayers are loaded)
  • Layout template: Classic, Modern, or Minimal
  • Transition effect between prayers
  • Show/hide prayer count, user name, and date

How Prayers Appear #

A prayer appears on an organization’s Prayer Display if:

  1. The prayer is shared (the author chose to share it).
  2. The prayer is active (processed and approved).
  3. The user who created the prayer is a member of that organization.

Prayers are sorted with emergency prayers first, then by newest first.

Real-Time Updates #

The Prayer Display automatically refreshes its prayer list at the configured refresh interval. When a prayer is un-shared by its author or otherwise removed, it is immediately removed from the display on the next refresh cycle — there are no stale cached entries that linger after a prayer has been removed.

View Tracking #

When someone views a prayer through the Prayer Display, the view is logged with geolocation data (city, country, coordinates). This data is visible to the prayer author on their Prayer View Map. The Prayer Display page is public — no login is required to view it.
