Using Dark Mode #

PrayerConnect includes a dark mode option for comfortable viewing in low-light environments.

How to Toggle Dark Mode #

Click the moon/sun icon in the navigation bar to switch between light and dark themes:

• Moon icon — You’re currently in light mode. Click to switch to dark mode.
• Sun icon — You’re currently in dark mode. Click to switch to light mode.

Preference Persistence #

Your theme preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. This means:

• Your chosen theme persists across page loads and browser sessions.
• The preference is per-browser — if you use PrayerConnect in a different browser, you’ll need to set it again.
• The theme is applied immediately when the page loads, so you won’t see a flash of the wrong theme.

What Changes in Dark Mode #

Dark mode adjusts the entire site’s color scheme:

• Background changes from white to dark gray
• Text changes from dark to light for readability
• Cards, forms, modals, and tables are all adjusted
• The navigation bar, footer, and alerts adapt to the dark theme
• Prayer card colors are adjusted to work well against the dark background
